Istanbul Day 3 - We decided to explore the “new” side of the city and more specifically walk the famous street, Caddesi Istikali. We took the tram to the last stop and then took the funicular up the hill to Taksim Square.
We walked the entire length of the street before doubling back to grab a cold drink and a light lunch at a nice cafe. The street is lined with cool architecture and some historical buildings. Also, this area is where most of the foreign consulates/embassies are and is considered one of the more affluent neighborhood of Istanbul. It was really hot and while there were a ton of shopping on the street… it’s not quite our style of shops so we didn’t really buy anything. However, the cold Efes really hit the spot!
